From Homecoming Floats to Forever

Some love stories begin in the most unexpected places. For Grace and Ryan, it all started while building a Homecoming float at Northwest Missouri State. Years later, those two students stood hand in hand before family and friends, promising forever in one of the most beautiful churches in Jefferson City.

Their wedding day began beneath cloudy skies with a little rain, but just as everyone hoped, the clouds parted, and the sun made its appearance. It turned into a warm (okay... very humid!) but absolutely gorgeous July day that perfectly reflected the joy surrounding these two.

One of my favorite moments happened before Grace ever walked down the aisle. As her mom helped her get ready, one of Grace's sisters carefully placed her veil, and her mom couldn't help but get emotional as she watched the moment unfold. It was one of those quiet moments that reminds you just how special a wedding day truly is.

Their ceremony at St. Peter Catholic Church was simply breathtaking. The soaring ceilings, beautiful artwork, and sacred atmosphere made for such a meaningful place to begin their marriage, in the presence of our Lord.

After the ceremony, one of the sweetest surprises was waiting. As a school teacher, Grace was greeted by many of her students, and we captured the most adorable photo of Grace and Ryan sharing a kiss while the kids jumped and cheered all around them. It was such a fun and genuine reflection of the impact she has on so many young lives.

From there, we headed across the street to the Missouri State Capitol for wedding party and couple portraits, and wow... these two absolutely knocked it out of the park! Every location seemed made for them, and they made my job so easy. They were relaxed, trusted the process, and were up for anything, even when Grace's feet had finally had enough. Of course, we couldn't resist capturing one last adorable photo with her bare feet kicked up. Those little unscripted moments always end up being some of my favorites.

One thing that really stood out throughout the day was just how grounded Grace and Ryan are. She's a school teacher. He's a farmer. Together they have such a genuine, down-to-earth spirit that made everyone around them feel comfortable. They also kept the day running so smoothly with their "let's get it done" attitude, which meant we stayed ahead of schedule for most of the day and were able to enjoy every moment without feeling rushed.

The celebration continued at The Millbottom, where instead of disappearing during cocktail hour, Grace and Ryan chose to spend that time greeting and welcoming each of their guests. It was another reflection of who they are, people who genuinely care about those around them. One of the most touching moments of the evening came during the father-daughter dance, when Grace's dad surprised everyone by dancing with her to a song he had written especially for his daughter. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

Grace and Ryan, thank you for allowing Charming Hearts Photography to be part of such an incredible day. It was truly an honor to capture every laugh, every happy tear, and every beautiful moment that made your wedding uniquely yours. I cannot wait for you to see the rest of your gallery because if these sneak peeks are any indication, you have so many incredible memories waiting for you.

Congratulations again, Mr. & Mrs. Smith! May your marriage be filled with the same joy, kindness, and unwavering love that surrounded you on your wedding day. ❤️
