I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again! LOVE THIS COUPLE! One thing I love about capturing a couples wedding photos is the relationship we build. It is equally important to me that I not only give my couples gorgeous images, but an amazing experience from the time they reach out to me in that very first inquiry to when I place their finished products in their hands. And beyond that. I got to do that with this couple.
Our first engagement session at the tunnel in Rocheport, Mo, it started to rain and the sun disappeared so fast that evening I suggested a reschedule. At their next engagement session at Pinnacles Park just north of Columbia, Mo, we captured so amazing shots. We had a lot of great conversation and then somewhere along the path we got a big whiff of some people that really like to smoke some stuff. Had a good laugh as Owen was like, "Whew! Did you smell that?!" For everyone in the park to hear. LOL!
The venue for their wedding day was gorgeous at The Legacy on Green Hills in Kansas City, Mo. Taylor was an absolutely gorgeous bride and so much fun to work with. She kept it real. And her bridal party Kierstin, J'nae, Erica and Angell. They were amazing. Not only excited for Taylor, but so supportive of the bride. If she needed it, they got it, had it, or found it.
The groom, Owen, tall, striking and super handsome did amazing. You know a guy is super awesome when he'll stand out in the heat, in a suit and let me put him all kinds of poses. Better yet, still laughs at my jokes and is happy to see me at the end of the day. You also know you have a great group of groomsmen when they will do the wedding ring pose and actually get into it. All of them Craig, Michael, Cale and Clayton were like, "I don't know...", but boy did they humor me and got some great photos for the couple.
The first looks were perfect. Owen's face lit with joy and he rushed to his bride and was overwhelmed with how beautiful she looked and he loved the gown. Dad likewise had an emotional moment with his daughter and tears were shed by both. Such great moments!
When the ceremony rolled around it started to sprinkle, but we still had sun. And by the time the bride was walking down the path it was a bit of a heavier summer rain with the sun shining behind her. It was quite the gorgeous picture. Her Mom, Melissa, who's the sweetest asked Taylor if we should move the ceremony inside. The bride's response. "We're already soaked and we're all already here. Let's do this!" And so the couple got married in the rain. Yes! It really was perfect and all the guests stayed. The rain came to an end by the time these two got to share their first kiss as husband and wife.
We moved into the reception, but not before I snagged one more picture of the couple with their wedding bands. The bride's Dad gave the first toast, followed by several others. Such wonderful things said about this wonderful couple. The couple danced and then the bride and her Dad. From there it was a lot of fun songs and great groups dancing. Something for all ages. Some Vanilla Ice and The Hustle. Everything you need for a great reception.
I pray for many blessings for Taylor and Owen. I'm so glad they live in Columbia so I know our paths will def cross again. I'm so glad they asked me to be a part of their day. Congratulations you two and big hugs!
