What a fantastic day and an even more fantastic couple!
Abbie and Jordan met on a dating app Coffee Meets Bagel. She was still living in California and he was in St. Louis. When Abbie returned to the Mid-West, what convinced her to go on a first date with Jordan -- he went to a bookstore and purchased and read a book from her favorite author.
They met at a Panera Bread because she'd had a long day and was tired and the original date spat was very far away. They ended up losing track of time and spent 4 hours talking and accidentally stayed an hour past close. Jordan said, "For some reason, the employee didn't say anything or kick us out. To this day we call that Panera guying ourselves. I think the Panera employee saw two people falling in love and stood back and watched it happen.
Cristian, who stood up with Abbie in her wedding party, shared in his toast at the reception that when he asked Abbie about Jordan, he said she sent back a fire emoji. 🔥 That's always a good sign.
And so we find ourselves on October 12, 2024, at the Lafayette Square Park and Historical District in Saint Louis, Missouri. Jordan down the street from the park at an Air B&B getting ready with some helpful and touching moments with his Dad. When Jordan arrived he was a few minutes late as he'd been dropped off at the wrong location. With suit in one hand, box tucked under his arm, and trying to answer messages and calls on his phone he was rushing down Mississippi Ave to the getting ready location. His father-in-law hearing what was happening hopped in his car and rushed to pick Jordan up. A bit frazzled and feeling behind he started trying to rush the process, and Jennifer was able to set groom and dad at ease. "We have time. Let's take our time and enjoy this moment."
The ladies arrived and they took some time to eat while we caught detail shots. We don't want a hangry wedding party on either side. Abbie was able to sit with her bridal party at the Lafayette Park House, visit, laugh, and relax before the whirlwind swept her up again. We even had a moment of flossing.
We captured sweet moments of the bride helping her Mom with some finishing touches and then Mom helping her daughter dress for her day. These are always some of my favorite moments in the day.
We love, love, love when a couple does a first look. These two did not disappoint. Their excitement to see each other and to have that moment. They did such a wonderful job and we even did a little run. What? Running on their wedding day. I asked the bride since she's wearing a mermaid gown how much movement she had. She said she felt she could do a scamper. And that was the word of the day for the rest of the day as it got used more than once. And so they scampered and we got had some great laughs!
These two surrounded themselves with some of the best people. Their wedding parties were amazing. They were all about it being Jordan and Abbie's day. They made sure they were taken care of and were great to work with.
The ceremony was beautiful nestled in The Grotto at Lafayette Park with the bridge behind them. When the officiant, Jordan's Dad, announced them husband and wife and to kiss... the swans came up as if to give their blessing on the marriage. The couple made their way back up the aisle with purple streamers waving and bells ringing.
The reception was so much fun! The venue SqWires Restaurant & Market did a wonderful job and the DJ with ProSound DJ had the dance floor packed and everyone shakin' it! The food was delicious, but instead of cake we feasted on donuts. Everything was a delight.
Thank you, Abbie and Jordan for letting us be a part of one of the best days of your life. There are so many more to come. Hugs!
